Otibact

Description

Otibact (generic name: enrofloxacin / silver sulfadiazine; brand names include: Baytril Otic) is an antibiotic of the fluoroquinolone class.

This medication is approved by the FDA for the treatment of otitis externa in dogs.

Otibact contains two active ingredients, enrofloxacin and silver sulfadiazine. Both are effective against susceptible bacteria and, when combined, provide rapid and broad-spectrum bactericidal activity.

The drop formulation of Otibact provides delivery of high concentrations of active ingredients directly to the site of infection.

The usual doses are 5-10 drops for dogs weighing 35 lbs. or less and 10-15 drops for bigger dogs, administered at a time.
